Melissa Resar is the manager of the Chapter 13 group in the Cleveland office at Rauser & Associates and works closely with the attorneys at the seven locations of Rauser & Associates that include Akron, Canton, Cleveland, Columbus, Elyria, Toledo and Youngstown, on Chapter 13 debt repayment plans. Ms. Resar has been an attorney with Rauser and Associates since 2000, and with the firm since 1998. Ms. Resar has over 20 years of bankruptcy experience including Chapter 7 fresh start and Chapter 13 debt repayment.
Ms. Resar helps her clients by using bankruptcy protections to stop foreclosure and garnishment proceedings, to force the return of repossessed vehicles, to stop income tax levy, and prevent utility shut-offs and disconnections.
After studying a wide variety of subjects in college, Ms. Resar chose to pursue law as a career in the hopes of being able to assist others through the legal process. Ms. Resar shares: “I have dedicated my entire legal career to helping everyday people through difficult financial situations. As an attorney with Rauser and Associates, I have overseen thousands of cases in which my clients were able to discharge tens of millions of dollars of crippling debt. Being able to work with my clients through stressful challenges, create budgets that are achievable, and helping them see what a life without debt can look like, is what drives me personally and professionally. I am energized that every day at Rauser and Associates gives me an opportunity to help another person.”
In her spare time, Ms. Resar enjoys cooking and travelling with her family. She and her husband have been married since 2004, and have two beautiful children. She has been a resident of Rocky River, Ohio since 2002.
